The story behind the app
Caity loves books the way some people love art.
Every shelf matters. Every worn paperback has a story. Like a lot of readers online, she fell in love with scanning and cataloging her collection. But the tools available always felt cold, generic, or just not quite right for the way she actually lives with her books.
She wanted something warmer. Something that felt like hers. So instead of finding a better app, I built her one.
What started as a simple barcode-scanning project slowly became something more. More personal. More considered. Every feature, every design decision, every small detail shaped by one question: would Caity love using this?
While I was building it, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Circulation Desk became something to pour good energy into during a very hard season. Long days, difficult appointments, and a lot of uncertain waiting. Through all of it, something worth building. Something that would outlast the hard parts.
We're sharing it now because other readers like Caity deserve something this thoughtful. And because every purchase supports her directly while she fights.
